Privacy policy

TeleRanked ("we") is a free website that reviews and ranks telehealth services. You can read every page without an account, and we collect very little about you. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who handles it for us.

The short version

• We set no cookies and run no advertising or tracking pixels.
• We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not identify you.
• We do not sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use it to profile you.
• We do not share information with any provider we review or rank, including the brands in which a TeleRanked partner holds an ownership stake (see How we make money).
• If you email us, we keep your message so we can reply.

What we collect

When you browse the site

Page-view statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages are read. For each page view it records the page address, the site that referred you, your approximate location (country, region and city), your device type, operating system and browser. It tells one visit apart from another with a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours, and it uses no cookies. We see totals, not individuals.

Request logs. Like every web host, our host, Vercel, receives standard technical details with each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Vercel uses them to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use them to identify visitors.

When you email us

If you write to editors@teleranked.com or clinics@teleranked.com, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you send. We use it to reply, to review corrections and listing requests, and to keep a record of the conversation.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for or collect health information, and TeleRanked does not provide medical care. Please do not email us details about your health or treatment. If you choose a telehealth provider from our pages, you share information with that provider, not with us.

Cookies and tracking

TeleRanked does not set cookies on its pages and does not use local storage, advertising pixels or cross-site tracking. Because nothing is stored on your device, there is no cookie banner.

Links to other websites

Our pages link to the telehealth providers we review and to the sources we cite. When you follow a link you leave TeleRanked, and that site's own privacy policy applies. We do not add tracking codes to these links, and we do not receive information about what you do on another site.

Clinics and listings

Clinics that want to claim a profile contact us at clinics@teleranked.com. We use the business contact details they send to verify the claim and manage the listing. We will update this policy before we open online clinic accounts or payments.

Clinics that show a TeleRanked badge on their own website load the badge image from our servers, so our host receives the standard request details described above, including the address of the page that displayed it.

How we use information

• To run, secure and improve the site, using page-view totals.
• To answer emails and handle corrections and listing requests.
• To comply with the law.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that run parts of the site for us: Vercel (hosting and analytics) and our email provider. They handle information on our behalf. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of TeleRanked, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.

How long we keep it

Page-view statistics are kept for our Vercel plan's reporting window, currently 12 months; the visit hash is discarded after 24 hours. Request logs are kept by Vercel for a limited period under its own policies. Emails are kept as long as we need them to handle your request and for our records.

Your choices and rights

You can block the analytics script with a browser setting or extension; the site works the same without it. You can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing editors@teleranked.com. Some states, such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and Washington, give residents these rights by law; we answer these requests wherever you live. Because we do not sell or share personal information, browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control have nothing further to switch off.

Children

TeleRanked is written for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has emailed us, tell us and we will delete it.

Security and location

Every page is served over HTTPS, and our providers use industry-standard safeguards, though no system is perfectly secure. TeleRanked is run from the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries.

Changes to this policy

We will post any change here and update the date at the top. Before a significant change, such as adding accounts, cookies or new service providers, we will update this page.
